In a previous article, I showed how to make a powerful airsoft BB machine gun with a portable air supply using about $50 worth of PVC and air fittings. For this project, I have simplified the design to make a machine gun out of only 4 parts totaling about $15 that runs directly off of an air compressor.
A soda bottle is the perfect inexpensive and commonly available pressure vessel for this particular type of BB gun. Believe it or not, soda bottles are rated to a pressure of well over 100 pounds per square inch in order to withstand the gas pressure built up by carbonation. Both the pressure resistance as well as the easily removable cap (which is convenient for reloading) makes for an ideal design. The following video will detail the construction process and demonstrate the extremely high rate of fire of this simple and very effective design.
Stay tuned to this blog and subscribe to my YouTube channel to be alerted when I post more projects. My next article will contain several modifications to this machine gun, including one that only costs $4 and does not require an air compressor. For now, here is a list of parts and materials needed to get you started building this awesome machine gun:
Parts:
- Soda Bottle
- 7mm x 6" Automotive Brake Line
- 1/4" Quick Release Air Compressor Fitting
- Air Compressor Blow Gun
Tools:
- Drill & Drill Bits
- Hot Glue Gun
- Air Compressor
